YASU Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy

YASU is committed to supporting a community that prioritizes individual dignity and promotes a
culture of diversity, inclusivity, and equity for all young adult (YA) cancer survivors.
Every YA survivor and their co-survivors, as well as our staff, board, partners, and all those we
interact with deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
We are committed to creating a community that recognizes and embraces diverse backgrounds,
identities, and lived experiences. We will actively work to understand and address inequalities
that may be entrenched in healthcare through our advocacy of patient care, learning, and
research. We will not tolerate or condone discrimination.
We are also committed to delivering our programs and conducting our organization in a manner
that respects diversity and inclusivity with the full intent of ensuring a supportive experience and
achieving better health and wellness outcomes for all.
