YASU Resarch Registry

From 2022-2025, YASU partnered with Bethany Nugent, PhD, RN, a research scientist, to develop the YASU Research Registry. Our goal was to capture key pieces of information about self-reported needs, depression, anxiety, social support, and financial toxicity at the time of enrollment with YASU and over-time. In the fall of 2025, a decision was made to close the registry because of personnel changes and challenges with ongoing funding and technology infrastructure.

Over the course of the registry, 192 young adults with cancer participated in the registry. We are so grateful for all those that gave voice to the young adult cancer experience! A couple of presentations are planned for the findings from the registry.

The registry was sponsored, in part, by the Staunton Farm Foundation and the Elsie H. Hillman Foundation.

We create and plan programs to meet these needs and determine the effectiveness of interventions. We also have plans to make this registry available to other researchers and academicians interested in understanding and improving the lives of YA with cancer.

The YASU research registry is now listed on clinicaltrials.gov
